Hi, I’m Tyler.

As a first-generation college student, I understand the complexities and challenges of navigating life’s transitions. I began my journey at community college before transferring to UC Davis, where I earned a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Minor in Education. My passion for helping others led me to pursue a Master’s of Science in Counseling, specializing in Career Counseling. Over the years, I have had the pleasure to work with individuals from various walks of life, including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, transitioning youth, teens, children 5-21 and college students.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process. I strive to deeply understand each client's unique background, identity, experiences, values, and hopes. My approach is holistic and relational, incorporating trauma-informed care, attachment theory, narrative therapy, and values based therapy. I offer Brainspotting, a therapeutic approach designed to help clients process challenging emotions and traumatic experiences. It involves identifying "brainspots," which are specific eye positions connected to certain memories, emotions, or areas of distress. Once a brainspot is located, mindfulness techniques are used to support clients in accessing, exploring, and processing the thoughts and feelings associated with that spot.

I also integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) to support clients on their journey.

Whether we are processing difficult emotions or exploring new perspectives, my goal is to build a strong therapeutic connection that encourages self-reflection, empowering you to overcome challenges and flourish. Outside of therapy, I enjoy traveling, cooking, fly fishing, and spending time outdoors, often drawing on my love for nature to inform my therapeutic work.
