Hi, I’m Rebecca.

I’m Rebecca, a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with teens and adults. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive space to deepen understanding of ourselves as well as our connections with others in our lives. I approach therapy with the recognition that our social contexts and experiences impact our lives in many different ways, and believing strongly that all of us, as humans, have an innate capacity for growth and change.

I have worked with people who were struggling with anxiety or depression, complicated family relationships, and those who’ve experienced abuse or neglect with family or intimate partners. I also enjoy working with young adults around identifying what they want for their futures. In order to identify and address underlying causes of different presenting concerns (like feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed), therapy includes setting shorter- and longer-term goals & working together to explore different strategies for meeting those goals. All of us are unique, so there is no “one size fits all” goal or plan for therapy. Ultimately, my hope is that therapy will be a stepping stone to develop a stronger and more confident sense of self, deeper connections to loved ones and community, and a more empowered, grounded way of being.

My lifelong interest in connecting with other people and understanding their experiences motivated me to study and become bilingual in Spanish (despite not having any family ties to Spanish-speaking countries). I have worked with many Spanish-speaking clients over the years and continue to practice Spanish through conversations with friends and mutual aid work in the community. I also enjoy working with people who identify as part of any LGBTQIA+ communities. Apart from my work in the mental health space, I enjoy practicing martial arts, spending time with friends and loved ones, having travel or hiking adventures, and exploring creative hobbies.
